“People like me, who have immense love for films, would not sleep properly if there are no quality movies. However, I slept well after watching ‘Mynaa’ as the film was so nice,” Kamal Haasan said on Thursday.

He was replying in a lighter vein to producer Udhayanidhi Stalin at the audio launch of ‘Mynaa’ in Chennai. In an interview, Udhayanidhi, who along with Kalpathi S Aghoram has acquired the distribution rights of ‘Mynaa’, said he was unable to sleep for two nights after watching the film.

“I liked ‘Mynaa’. It is a beautiful made by Prabhu Solomon after painstaking efforts. Almost all the actors are freshers. But their performance is similar to that of veterans. Congratulations to the entire team,” Kamal said.

Stating that it was his wish that films like ‘Mynaa’ should run well, the ‘Ulaga Nayagan’ said only then filmmakers would get that zeal to make quality movies. “People should come forward to support good movies and ignore bad movies,” he said. Prabhu Solomon, who directed films ‘Kokki, Lee’ and ‘Laadam’, has directed this movie, which is a love story between a young man and woman who live in a tribal village near Theni and the problems they encounter.

The film stars new comers Vidharth of ‘Koothu Pattarai’ and Anaka of ‘Sindhu Samaveli’ fame in the lead roles. Music is by D Imman. Yugabharathi has written the lyrics.
